Rodney Bay. Vieux Fort. Watersports on offer include waterskiing, Hobie Cat sailing, kayaking, paddleboarding and diving.
Want something a little different from St Lucia?
There's also a well-equipped gym, a tennis court in need of a facelift , archery, and lots of organised activities every day, such as yoga, dance classes, beach walks and creole lessons. There are bedrooms, typically decorated in smart maple, mahogany and rattan furnishings.
Facilities include fridges, robes, tea- and coffee-making facilities, but no televisions: remember this is a romantic hotel, where the focus should be on your partner. Premium Garden View rooms — the cheapest category — occupy a three-storey block at the rear of the grounds.
The next level, the Verandah suites, also overlooking the gardens, are quite a lot more stylish, with a double daybed on a big terrace and a large bathroom with free-standing bath and separate shower. Better still are the Seaside suites by one of the swimming pools, which have a colourful contemporary look.
The best of the beachfront rooms are the pretty semi-detached cottages, whose large terraces are just a few steps from the sand. There's a varied choice of dining options. You can also have dinner in The Trysting Place, a fairly formal, air-conditioned affair serving French food, or the much more casual Malabar Beach Club on the sand staff encourage you to take your shoes off. My meal there — grilled octopus, snapper with rice, passion fruit tart — was fine but didn't reach any culinary heights.
Unusually for an all-inclusive, wine is available by the bottle at dinner. Drinking spots include a retro-styled champagne bar Piper-Heidsieck by the glass on my visit where you're entertained by a pianist playing tunes on a grand piano.
The all-inclusive terms cover a lot, including afternoon tea, premium drinks with champagne by the glass and all watersports including a dive a day for certified divers. Free Wi-Fi. There are some ground-floor bedrooms, but none are fully adapted. There is level access to most public areas. Telegraph Review.
